Race course starts at the Art Center progresses into downtown Schuylkill Haven onto the “Island” and includes a trail. You can even watch the Sojourners take off!

Schuylkill Haven Spring Fling Open House and Student Art Month Kick Off

Come join area businesses for a Spring Fling Open House in downtown Schuylkill Haven starting March 31. Participating downtown businesses will be handing out eggs filled with candy, coupons, and prizes, including a chance to win a  huge grand prize gift basket! You will also have a chance to check out the area’s student art for Student Art Month. There will also be craft tables set up with free crafts for children.

It’s a great way to shop local, get your Easter gifts, and support our student artists! Plus it gives the kids something to do too!

21 and Over Kickball League

Yup, that’s right! It is an elementary favorite for grown-ups! Beginning Thursday March 22 at the West Brunswick Township softball field, the league will continue for seven games and a tournament. The cost to participate is $49 per player and includes a t-shirt.

Registration is available online through March 8 at www.gokickball.com/schuylkill_haven.

There are three ways to join:

- Create a team: A team captain can create a team and make a code for desired invitees to his or her team.

- Invitee: Log on and register with a specific team, using the code provided by a team captain.

- Free agent: Interested players can freely sign up, without choosing a specific team, and be randomly placed on a roster.

Schuylkill Haven Police NFL Flag Football League 20

The Schuylkill Haven Police NFL Flag Football League is currently accepting player registration.  Registration is opened to boys and girls ages 5 to 17.  A $40.00 registration fee for each players participation.  Fee covers cost of players official NFL flag jersey, flag belt, and league fees.  Parents can register online at shpd.nflflag.com (do not add www before the address) Registration closes on April 15, 2012.   All fees must be submitted via mail or in person at the Schuylkill Haven Police station by April 15, 2012.  The program is available to both in town and out of town youth.
The league is also looking for interested adults for coaches and referees.  On line registration is also available for those positions.  For more information about NFL Flag Football visit online at shpd.nflflag.com

The Perfect Pair: A Wine and Chocolate Fundraiser for Blue Mt. Girls Soccer

  Blue Mt. High School Girls Soccer Team England Trip Committee Graduating Classes of 2014 and 2015 hosts ‘The Perfect Pair, a Wine and Chocolate Fundraiser Event on February 11, from 7-10 pm. In 2013, girls from the Blue Mountain Soccer Team will travel to the United Kingdom to compete against teams from Scotland and England. This event will help them reach their fundraising goals! Please plan on attending to enjoy silent and live auctions as well as wine and chocolate sampling.

Our Haven Foundation’s Mission Statement is: “Dedicated to revitalizing Downtown Schuylkill Haven through strong partnerships and community activism.” In simple terms, Our Haven Foundation wants to make our downtown a more spectacular place.
